White tea is made from the very young, unfurled leaf tips of Camellia sinensis. One of the most exquisite, rare, and most expensive teas in the world. Ceylon White tea produces a very light brew with citrus and honey flavor and is usually consumed without sugar, honey, or milk. The unique flavor and color of Ceylon White Tea are mainly due to the unique harvesting and manufacturing process it undergoes in the hands of the expert tea makers. White teas are generally uncured in the style of green teas and are similarly very low in caffeine.

Health Benefits of White Tea

  • Reduce the risk of heart diseases.

Polyphenols reduce the generation of oxidized low-density lipoproteins (LDL) which is a high-risk factor of cardiovascular diseases. Polyphenols and EGCG also reduce the risk of platelet aggregation or clumping of blood platelets together which is another cause of heart diseases.

  • Improves oral health.

As a good source of fluorides, catechins, and tannins, White Tea helps to improve oral health by preventing dental cavities and bacteria growth. Fluorides in white tea strengthen the teeth while catechins act as antimicrobial agents and reduce the activities of oral bacteria which cause plaque, cavities, and bad breath.

  • Improves bone health.

The same polyphenols and EGCG in white tea that render an innumerable number of benefits to the human body also helps to improve the bone and reduce risk of developing situations like osteoporosis that cause bones to become weak and brittle.

As free radicals and chronic inflammation are two factors that increase osteoporosis, the antioxidant properties of white tea help to reduce these factors and suppress the reactions of osteoclasts in breaking down the tissue in bones and releasing the minerals.

Available Grades of White Tea

1Ceylon Silver TipsA special and rare variety of the camellia sinensis plant is used to produce silver tips. The tea is entirely handmade from the tender tea bud that is carefully plucked, and sun dried to perfection. Each leaf has a characteristic layer of soft bristles on its underside. A fantastically subtle brew with an invigorating after taste. Handmade white tea- pale yellow in the cup and a light yet complex flavor.
2Ceylon Golden TipsThe (white tea) leaves of our Golden Tips tea are dried naturally. Lingering in sweetness due to hints of honey and pine, this light amber-hued liquor is also high in antioxidants. Usually grown in higher altitudes in Sri Lanka, Ceylon Golden Tips is very similar to the celebrated silver needles tea but is of white golden colour. Made of the leaves that are small and unopened only a very small amount of golden tips is manufactured annually.
